The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) reviews applications and completes site visits on behalf of the United States Small Business Administration (SBA). WBENC approves small businesses for this exclusive group of businesses.
WBENC is a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs and the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the United States. WBENC believes that “diversity promotes innovation, opens doors, and creates partnerships that fuel the economy.”
All WBENC businesses are at least 51% woman owned, controlled, operated, and managed. The process for certification includes a rigorous documentation review and a site visit by a WBENC regional partner organization.
The U.S. federal government has a mandate to award at least 5% of all contracts to women-owned businesses. WBENC certification makes Asylas eligible to bid for and be awarded these federal contracts. Over 1,000 corporations also accept WBENC certification criteria when making decisions about who to do business with.
